December 2010

Dear Families,

As our 2010 year draws to a close, I wish to thank all our families for their support and working together with the staff to ensure your child has the very best care.

I would like to welcome to our centre Diane and Vidooshi. Diane and Vidooshi have continued the continuity of care and we thank them both for their quick learning of routines and the needs of individual children.

We welcome back Joanna in the kitchen until 2011. We are all so relieved that her daughter Lucy has successfully completed her chemo and is now in remission.

Our best wishes go to Helen who will not be returning until 2011. Helen has been very unwell but we are very positive we will see Helen's smiling face in the kitchen next year 2011.

I wish to thank all the carers/educators: Estella, Amber, Debbie, Joanna, Michelle, Helen, Lalin, Leeann, Vidooshi and Diane for the commitment they have for their work place and how they support each other through the challenges of the day. No extra task is too hard and if required all staff have worked extra hours to ensure the care and education of your child is not compromised.

To our children going to school: Monique, Zali and Anastacia were all babies when they came to Mentone Park Child Care at the age of 6 months. Daniel and Mitchell joined the girls at the age of 12 months. Niamh and Cory joined the troupe at the age of three and Charlie came this year at the age of five.

For me it is an end of an era as Daniel Grimshaw goes to school. The staff and I have cared for all of Grandpa Bill's grandchildren over a period of 13 year – Jack, Tess, Luke, Jade, Isabella, William, Eleanore and Daniel.

A very close bond has been formed within this schoolie group .Their friendships have been formed on trust, respect, honesty commitment and acceptance of differences. For five year olds to display such attributes is very rewarding. We farewell our 2010 kinder year with great pride and fondness and we know they will always remember to share, care and love.

Christmas closing times: Thursday December 23rd 5.00pm. Re-opening 7.30am Monday January 10th 2011.

No fees will be charged over the Christmas break. All fees will resume for all those enrolled Monday January 10th 2011.

We have had to disappoint a number of families on our waiting list this year as there is a great demand for small, non-corporate care, it is sought after by our community.

Yours Sincerely,
Tonia Grimshaw-Lloyd - Licensee Director
